When we open a file, the soft crash
#1
Hi,

First of all, I'm sorry for my bad english: My mother tongue is french and my english is very bad.

I just buy the PortraitProfessional 8 and install it one week ago.
At this time, after more and more re-installation, the software don't run correctly. He don't run at all...

When I open the software, I need to open a file.
When the file is selected and we have chosen the button "open" on the box, the software crash immediatly.

Please, send us the fix solution.

Our system is on Windows XP / SP3 / home edition

Best regards,

Jérôme Henry

What file format are you trying to open ? Jpg, Tiff, Png, Bmp ??
How big is the file you're trying to open ?
What error message, if any, are you getting when the programme crashes ?

Hi,

Thanks for your help !
I'm not at the office at this time and I don't have the file on the notebook.

It's a file created from an Canon EOS 1DmkIII on .jpg format, full quality (~4-6 Mb)
For the test, I use a file without any modification on photoshop or any other software.

The software crash with any file I try (from EOS 40D, EOS 1D, EOS D60).

The only error message I have is an error from Windows, the traditionnal error:
"The software encountered an error and need to close"

The trial edition work correctly and we open all file without problem.

Thanks for your future help.

Jérôme Henry
