I think you are completely right, reinstalling your computer should mean that you can re-use the key you bought for Portrait Professional. And in the vast majority of cases you will be able to do that. It's only when the system fingerprint changes radically enough that it seems like it's a different machine that you are trying to install the software on that you will need to open a support ticket (which we do aim to reply to within 24 hours). However exactly what constitutes a different system can be tweaked so we will look at that for our next version.
