Aside from being a very good shooter, he knew how to make money doing it. I know of his work and his biz. Both impressive. - K

I'm sad to learn of Monte's passing, as one who knew him in person, although he would not know me.  In 1973 and 74 I was on staff at the Winona School of Professional Photography in Winona Lake, Indiana, USA.  Monte was a regular visiting instructor who was much loved and whose courses were immensely popular.  This was 35 years ago when Monte's hair was brown and so was mine!  He was a great teacher and will be remembered for all he contributed to photography in our generation.

When I first met Monte I didn’t know how to take him, he never got on my case (except for one pose one time) but seemed hard on his students. He certainly  told it like it is. He said of one studio photographer that was doing a million dollar a year gross that “he was a better business man than he was a photographer“, that was Monte. I learned just about everything I know about portrait photography from him. He was the best.
Best,
Tommy

I feel sad to here about that. Monte Zucker was good wedding photographer.
