OpenCL GPU support - TomC - 12-15-2013 A lot of users have graphic cards from NVIDIA or AMD which offer an API for GPU-processing. For a lot of tasks GPUs are _way_ faster than CPUs, e.g. my Photoshop plugin for NeatImage went from more than 1 minute for processing a 24 MP photo down to 2 seconds when they added OpenCL support to their plugin. Wouldn't that be great for PP? Right it PP is by far the slowest link in my processing chain. RE: OpenCL GPU support - MacSass - 12-19-2013 Hi, I´m pretty OK overall with the PP performance although I would agree that using GPU might make sense for the processing intensives tasks like face recognition and adjustments. Overall I would prefer development focus on some other topics though - as currently updates seem to come very rarely ... Regards - MacSass |
