I would prefer to use LINUX as my operating system. Unfortunately LINUX is not a currently supported operating system for your product line.

Thanks to a change in the licensing for Qt (the user interface toolkit we are using), LINUX support is something we could consider for the next version.

hello i want to buy the portrait professional new version 9. is not a linux support yet? especially for ubuntu! and one more question if i buy windows version will i need to pay again so i can have the mac version of the software for my laptop? is there a discount? should i buy 2 times a product so i can use it in 2 pc's for my self? true is i wait for the linux version because photoshop and portrait professional is still keeping mac and windows in my pc's so if ill see a linux version i will take them off and be better with free linux.
Most, if not all, software developers relax the licence condition so as to allow the installation of their software on a desktop machine and a laptop as long as the software isn't being used on the two machines simultaneously. In the case of a PC and MAC versions I guess 2 licences will have to be purchased as it's two versions of the same software. I'm assuming (from your name) that you're Greek, if so this might help.

Try Crossover

or Wine

i tried the demo version of the new release 9 before i purchase anything with wine 1.22 under linux but when i try to edit a picture the software crashes so i guess will be pointless to buy it at this point...
I know this is an older post, but we've been moving more and more to ubuntu. I too would like a linux version of this software.

We own 2 copies now (max and 6) and are honestly just waiting for a linux version to upgrade.

Thanks for being linux-friendly!

Oh, and FWIW - I would be more than glad to help out in any way I can with linux development. I'm currently a member of the Bibble beta testing team, have a background in computer programming, and (some say) a decent photographer too boot. ;-)

Is the new portrait prof. Version 10 comes in Linux flavour? Especially debian .deb files!
