I'm in an 8 bit, srgb jpg and everything has always worked perfectly, but now when I do the first step and click the eyes, it doesn't accept my click. Any tips?

Can you please tell us the following:
- Platform you are using (Mac/Windows).
- Version and Edition of Portrait Professional.
- Anything you may have changed before this issue arose.
If you could also open a support ticket here, one of our exceptional support staff will take a look at the issue and provide assistance in returning Portrait Professional to its previous working state.
