Some may think I'm barking but........
I've always thought the expression on my dog's face in this shot was a bit bemused (I usually describe it as dopey). Anyway, I've run it through PP very quickly and now think he has a much more alert and purposeful look about him.

I have to agree with you - he does look more alert. Don't think it would work on cats though - but I'll try it and see what happens. I might be pleasantly surprised.
