I am a very new user so please bear with me if tis is a daft question. Is it possible to open a photo in PortraitPro by dragging it and dropping it somewhere?

Benedictine, yes, it is possible. Why don't you just try it instead of asking it here?

Benedictine, re-install the program. It has always work on my computer.
