Unless I've missed something, the Picture Controls slider applies to the entire image. It would be extremely useful to provide the choice of having that slider apply to the entire image or only to the selected face.

I have, for instance, an image with two faces, one too dark and the other too light, but Picture Controls can't help.

Picture Controls, as the name implies, is for the whole image. All the rest of the controls apply only to the face you are currently editing. How about you try Skin Colouring Control. I hope this is what you need.
