I was having trouble saving .jpgs and .tiffs from Portrait Professional 10.8.2 in OSX 10.9.1; the program was not generating files. I realised that, even though you have to select a format, you still have to manually enter the extension, like "filename.ext"

It's confusing, and should probably be corrected.
